An hwid spoofer changes the hardware fingerprint Windows reports. On Destiny 2 PC, that fingerprint is what BattlEye can store next to a device ban.
What BattlEye records on your PC
battleye anti cheat destiny 2 is a kernel driver plus a user-mode service. The driver (BEDaisy) loads when Destiny 2 launches and unloads when the game closes.
From that seat it can read more than your Bungie account. Typical surfaces include disk and NIC identifiers, the Windows machine GUID, SMBIOS / motherboard UUID, BIOS serial, CPU profile, and GPU adapter ID.
Some of those values live in the registry. Some live in firmware. Firmware IDs are the ones a simple rename will not move.
Bungie requires that install. Block BattlEye and Destiny 2 will not launch. Launch from the game folder instead of Steam, Epic, or the Microsoft Store and you get PLUOT.
What an HWID spoofer actually changes
A hardware ID ban is a server-side device record. A new account on the same PC can still fail. Reinstalling Destiny 2 does not wipe that record.
An hwid spoofer reports different identifiers for the next session. The goal is a clean fingerprint so the stored device record no longer matches this machine.
It does not unlock a banned Bungie account. It does not hide an overlay. It does not replace patch maintenance. Those are separate layers.
